📌 Seen and Unseen Beings (1/2)
- The universe (âlem) is the name given to everything other than Allah that can be known through reason and the senses, or whose existence can be conceived.
- The unseen (gayb) is the realm of beings that cannot be seen with the eye and about which we cannot gain knowledge through our senses; we know of it only through what Allah makes known to us.
- In the realm of the unseen there are jinn (beings with free will, created from fire), Satan (a being expelled for refusing to prostrate before Adam), and angels.
📌 Seen and Unseen Beings (2/2)
- Superstition and false belief are fabricated claims, contrary to reason, put forward in the name of religion.
- Magic/sorcery is deceiving people through trickery; fortune-telling is drawing meaning from objects in order to learn the future.
- These generally stem from ignorance and a lack of religious knowledge, and they cause personal and social harm.
